Question 1

What's included in the €39 or £39 a month?

Accepted Answer

A professionally built website, domain name, business email, hosting, SSL, backups, software maintenance and ongoing support. The monthly price is the final price—there is no setup fee or VAT added.

Question 2

Which sign-up button should I use?

Accepted Answer

Ireland (€39) if you pay from a euro bank account, and UK (£39) if you pay from a sterling account, including in Northern Ireland. The package is the same either way.

Question 3

How does payment work?

Accepted Answer

The monthly Direct Debit is set up through GoCardless, who email you to confirm it and give notice before payments are taken. You are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee in the UK and SEPA refund rights in Ireland.

Question 4

Is there a contract or cancellation fee?

Accepted Answer

No long-term lock-in and no cancellation fee. You can cancel at any time, with the managed website, hosting and support continuing until the end of the current paid month. Your domain can be transferred. If you cancel within 12 months, you do not receive a copy of the new website.

Question 5

Can I keep my existing domain?

Accepted Answer

Use your existing domain, or we can register one for you if required. It stays yours if you leave. If you already have one, we send you the DNS settings to point it at our server; email can stay where it is if you prefer.

Question 6

Do I have to write all the content?

Accepted Answer

No. Send notes, your current price list, an existing website or leaflets and we will turn them into a clear structure. We agree any larger copywriting requirement before work starts.

Question 7

Can the site show my pricing and payroll timetable?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Services, pricing, a payroll timetable with cut-off dates and a checklist of what new clients need to send are all part of a typical bureau site—May Ledger has each of them.

Question 8

Can clients send payroll documents through the website?

Accepted Answer

The package includes enquiry and callback forms, not a secure document portal. Most bureaus keep using their payroll software’s client portal for payslips and employee data, and we can link to it prominently. A bespoke portal can be scoped separately.

Question 9

How quickly will I see something?

Accepted Answer

We make a first pass at the design within two working days of receiving your answers to the welcome form. You review it on a preview link, and it goes live once you approve it and the domain points at us.

Question 10

What happens to my domain and content if I leave?

Accepted Answer

Your domain can be transferred to you or another provider. If you cancel within 12 months, you do not get a copy of the new website. You do get a static copy of your old website and any content we collected from it, so you can put a site live straight away with another provider. Hosting and support end with the paid service. Bespoke source files or software are only transferred where agreed in writing.
